Crowd of people walking with light streaming through

She had been bleeding for twelve years. Twelve years of doctors who could not help her. Twelve years of spending what she had on remedies that failed. Twelve years of being considered unclean by the law — which meant twelve years of being untouchable, excluded, unseen.

And then she heard that Jesus was passing through. She did not ask for an audience. She did not send word ahead. She simply pressed through the crowd and reached for the hem of his garment — the very edge of him — believing that even that would be enough.

He Stopped

The crowd was pressing in on all sides. The disciples thought the question was absurd: “Who touched you? Master, the multitude throng you.” But Jesus stopped. Because someone had touched him not with curiosity but with faith — and he had felt it.

She came trembling, fell at his feet, and told him everything. And he called her “daughter.” Not “woman.” Not even her name. Daughter. In front of everyone who had considered her unclean, he named her family.

Perhaps today you feel like you are on the edges — too worn down, too disqualified, too much has gone wrong to step forward. You do not have to fight your way to the front. You just need to reach for the hem. He will stop. He always stops.
